Bookable now on Orbitz, which offers regular mileage earning, price assurance refunds and more importantly free cancellations until 11pm ET the day after you book. (I.E. Book at 1:00am and have 46 hours to cancel for free), or you can book direct from the airline, though with United for example you will then have a shorter cancellation period (24 hours from whenever you book)

Don’t forget to use the best credit card for airfare:
-Earn over 5 points per dollar with Chase Freedom (up to $1,500 per quarter with registration), or 3 points per dollar with American Express® Premier Rewards Gold Card, or 3 points per dollar with The Business Gold Rewards Card® from American Express OPEN, or 2.14 points per dollar with Chase Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card® Card.

———————————————————————-
-Air Canada has flights from Chicago to Tel Aviv via Toronto for $690.17
-Delta has flights from Chicago to Tel Aviv via JFK for $694.97
-United has flights from Chicago to Tel Aviv via Newark for $694.97

The Air Canada and United flights earn 100% United MileagePlus miles. Delta flights earn 100% Delta Skypesos.

Outbound travel is valid between January-March with a 30 day max stay.

If you’re from NYC you can book a separate one-way flight to Chicago for just $68.80.  If you’re from Toronto you can use 4,500 BA Avios for a one-way flight to Chicago.

From NYC this means you can get a flight with 2 stops to Tel Aviv and nonstop back home to $758.97 instead of paying $1,157 for a regular nonstop flight.  Sure, adding stops to save $400 isn’t for everyone, but it is still a good deal.  Plus you’ll earn more miles that way 😀

You can throw away the final leg back to Chicago if you just want to get off in JFK, Newark, or Toronto, even if you have luggage, as all luggage must be reclaimed and brought through customs. At that point you can either recheck your bags to Chicago or just leave the airport.

You do need to fly to Chicago to pick up the flight. If you miss the originating Chicago flight your entire itinerary will be canceled!

If you are from other cities like Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, or even Kansas City it’s just 9,000 BA Avios (which can be transferred from all 3 major transferable point currencies, Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, and Starwood) to fly round-trip to Chicago.

There are tons of available dates, here are just some sample valid dates on the different carriers:
Air Canada: 01/20-02/04
Delta: 01/27-02/11
United: 02/17-03/04 (Purim)
Delta: 03/12-04/09 (Pesach)

To help find other valid dates check the Orbitz box to search “3 days before and after” to help find other valid dates.

Or I highly recommend that you read about using ITA Software and use their awesome month-long calendar search to help find dates with cheap flights.

leah

hey i was wondering if u think there will b a better deal directly from new york for pesach or is this as good as it gets?

David R

These might also be bookable on Citi Thank You or Chase Ultimate Rewards. If you have the Citi Thank You Premier card, your points are worth 1.33 cents each when used for travel. If you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, your points are worth 1.25 cents each when used for travel. Is this a good use of points?

rivky

is there a way to go directly from toronto to tlv?

Moishebatchy

@David R: For Citi ThankYou points, yes; but for Chase UR points, it’s a terrible value.

eli

does anyone know when this deal is good until?

AND CAN YOU TELL ME IF I CAN GET THE SPECIAL FOR
$758.97 FOR THESE DATES.. BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO IT.. I AM SEARCHING AND I CAN’T GET HOW THIS WORKS.. DAN PLEASE ANSWER ME THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

AIR CANADA

@rivky:

The best u could do is take a one-way flight to chicago, which will then take u on air canada to toronto to tel aviv, and when u get back to toronto on the return, u could just walk out of the airport without taking the chicago flight.
And to make the deal sweeter see my above post, to save even more if you are going with air canada 🙂

sol
