Just letting you guyz know this is one if the hottest laptops on the market, it retails for over 1200 and I thought I got a steal when I bought it for 700. I’ve had this laptop for quite some time and I have to say its incredible.

Jason Smith

Yes, but intel has their new 4th generation processor out (called the Haswell processor), If you need a laptop I would wait a few weeks and buy a 4th generation.

Dan

The 4th gen is out already for laptops. The benchmarks aren’t all that impressive.

David

No SSD.

$9.99 shipping…

Joejoe

The intel 4th generation is indeed considerably better but you’ll never get such a good price until years later and by then there be an even better processing system. Additionally, the i7 is an incredible processor, you don’t even need a later model, you can use it for gaming and multiple programs there’s no need for something better

Dan

@Joejoe:
DDF’s resident laptop techie isn’t sold on the 4th generation superiority:

Doesn’t seem like users will notice a difference, at least nothing worth paying for.

Isn’t it annoying to have Windows 8 without the touchscreen?

Is it worth it to buy for $699 or wait for something better?

Joejoe

@Shua: @Shua: 699 is still an incredible price for this laptop, but if you don’t mind getting refurbished ones that will always knock off another 100 bucks or so; additionally, I don’t know if you’re a big gamer or run a business with multiple and heavy memory using programs but if you’re not and still want a great laptop that can pretty much do anything besides for that you’re best bet would be to go for an i5 processor it’s a lot cheaper and works almost as great plus you get extended battery life due to the lack of energy the i5 uses as oppose to the i7 which only gives u close to 3 hours; regardless you can check up 1saleaday they’re having an i5 for cheap.

yanki

@avi: Yes, it is annoying. Good news is you can always google the problem. There are lots of good and free programs to offset windows’ 8 horrible experience. I used them, and I can finally appreciate its advantages.

DH

@joejoe
For $699 I would hold off, they’ve been having many deals on these hp laptops – I’m sure we’ll find something similar soon

Shmilfke

Snagged it at $661

Dan

@lol:
That is not an i7 processor, has less RAM, etc.

Shua

@joejoe & DH: Thank you for your input. I don’t trust/like refurbished and I don’t mind a good computer with a i5 processor as oppose to a i7.

If anyone knows any good deals on laptops, pls post.
