Screenshots Of All 34 Delta Award Charts That They Don’t Want You To See

Over the weekend Delta decided to take down all of their award charts from their website. You now need to search for a flight in order to view the mileage cost.

Delta’s Twitter minions state,

“Delta will no longer publish Award travel charts. With the launch of the all-new Award calendar, it’s now easier than ever to search for and see prices for Awards online. The expanded search capabilities and calendar at delta.com offer a flexible, easier-to-read and more accurate view of Award prices. When booking a flight, you also may quickly compare its price in miles or money. Additionally, the introduction of Miles + Cash and One-Way Awards offer even more flexibility in booking Award Travel. To learn more about Award Travel, please visit delta.com/usemiles”

Other airlines have award calendars and still manage to maintain an award chart.  For whatever reason Delta doesn’t want people to know what the awards should cost. Or they want to be able to change award prices as they please without having to update their charts.

Off the top of my head the only other airline that doesn’t publish a full award chart is Delta’s Skyteam partner Air France/KLM flying Blue.

Of course the Delta online award calendar won’t help you for their numerous partners that can’t be booked online. I guess they expect you to call to find out those rates now.

And the award calendar won’t tell you if you’re getting a good deal.  With the award charts you know to aim for level 1 or level 2 pricing.  Without charts you’re just redeeming in the dark. Which is apparently their goal.

At any rate I’ve saved a copy of every Delta award chart, you can find them all below as they appeared on Delta.com last week. Miles required are for one-way travel.

am logged into my account

vacation lover

Oh is this cool!! How did you know to save screenshots?

What do you mean by saying that flying blue doesn’t have an award chart? Of course they do. What am i missing?

Dan

@rachel:
I’m seeing 32.5K, which is a level 5 award as you can see from the US49 award chart.

Those rates can change daily, but if you don’t see 12.5K then there’s not much you can do right now.

@vacation lover:
Do you have a link to a Flying Blue partner award chart?

Anonymous

@rachel: first off 52K is obviously a combined RT of level 5 and level 3. Second Dan is not your personal search engine. Third, at this point it is unlikely to find good award seats as it is so close in and it is a high travel weekend.

rachel

@Anonymous:

just wanted to understand what i was doing wrong. why i wasn’t seeing 12.500.
am new to this
just relax:)

rachel

@Dan: thanks dan

SL2

Thanx @dan this will definitely come into use. Thanx for the hard work.

vacation lover

Oh partner, yup thats the thing i was missing 🙂

emkay

At 80K RT NYC-TLV with no YQ why do more people not go delta direct? is it the availability?

D93

@emkay: If it’s 80k on Delta, it can be booked thru flying blue for 50k, same no YQ. and good luck finding availability

dov bennish

ana books united at 60k rt nonstop with no yq

MosheD

And good luck finding ua RT availability for ana as well :O

All the good awards require time, effort and luck

Award mile prices change even more than daily. If you give yourself a LOT of time you can usually get lowest price in miles. No sense at all to it. I’ve seen it change by 40,000 miles in a few hours, both up and down. I start 335 days out usually, to get summer tickets to London in business class. It often takes a couple of months, but it is so worth the time. If you just go on and get a ticket, you can pay the same price for coach that I pay for business class.

Nian

This is the link to Flying Blue award chart: http://www.flyingblue.com/spend-miles.html

Award chart is not necessarily something that comes in a table! It is any tool that let you know how many miles do you need to fly from one point to another irrespective of the date and availability.

ANA

OK, Any way to do NY-TLV-NY- HI?
Which would offer best low miles for coach for this?
Have UA, DL, AA. NO MR.

Also, book ANA for a UA flight or a DL Flight?

Thank you all!

Shlomo

Dan help!Sorry I a am off topic… I am stating to build a house! All materials come out of my CC. What CC do you recommend? Really appreciate quick response.Thanks … Shlomo

@Nian:

From what I know Flying Blue does not have a chart. The page you’re linking to has a calculator, which is an absolutely different thing. You can’t compare seeing things at a glance with entering info one citi at a time. That’s misery.

Nian

@andy shuman: That’s definitely a misery. But by no measure it is something “absolutely different” from a chart. That’s exactly one form of presenting a chart. A bad form of course!

Dan

@MosheD:
ANA shouldn’t be that hard within 1-2 months of the flight.

@Nian:
Tried several US cities, doesn’t actually give a price.

@ANA:
United.

@Shlomo:
Buy HD/Lowes gift cards from Staples/Office Max with an Ink card.

@Nian:
Except it doesn’t actually work at all.

Anonymous

@Dan:

Not all cities are there, but of the main cities most of them are. And the main point of the calculator is that, it gives you the number of miles needed to travel between two countries/regions irrespective of date and availability.

Nian

Whether you like it or not, whether or not it is a misery, whether or not you find it sufficiently functional, it is far from not having a chart.

Dan

Sorry, a chart that can’t price out CLE-LGA or LAX-OGG isn’t an award chart.
It’s misery.

Nian

@Dan:
There are several routes that the chart cannot price out. And the chart is not good at all. That being said, CLE-LGA and LAX-OGG are not among the routes that cannot be priced out. Don’t search using airport code. Type the name of the city. The result will be shown for city. It doesn’t matter you search for New York JFK or New York Newark, the result would be for New York. And as for LAX-OGG type “Los Angeles” and “Kahului” and the result ir right there (which is 30000 miles for a round trip classic award in economy).

gideon

i am looking for a flight form dc to la and only see a price of 17500 miles. i have 17150 so getting the 12500 price would be great – is there anywat i can get it?

Gene

I am amazed at some of the posts here.

In particular “I am not seeing the lower priced award – what is wrong?”

They are not available on that day or flight. They either are already gone, or maybe never existed for that flight. Simple. If the low price award was ALWAYS available, they would not need the medium or high price awards, right? You realize there is a reason they have the various levels, right?

I am right now mentally stuttering trying to write this email.

marc

so if i see on delta for 35k says “lowest” that means i can book this anytime (not just today) on korean for 30k? can i stay over in LAX for a day or 2 as this flight stops there?

Amanda

Late to the party, but I am only seeing the screenshots in Spanish…? I am looking to fly to Southeast Asia and wondering if it’s even worth redeeming sky miles or just holding my breath for a good deal to come around and pay cash…any advice appreciated!!

Aaron

From North America to tlv is now 35000 at level 1. Down from 40,000 from 2015. Very rare to find tho
